Na článek v ruském deníku Argumenty i Fakty z 23.3. 2005, který zpochybňuje práci společnosti Člověk v tísni na Severním Kavkaze, reagoval koordinátor humanitárních operací OSN pro Ruskou federaci Kasidis Rochanakorn. The article published 23 March 2005 in the Russian weekly Argumenty i Fakty, titled “Are UN Automatic Weapons Shooting our Guys,” made a number of inflammatory and potentially dangerous claims about international humanitarian programs in the North Caucasus. I wish to assure you that I will, as Humanitarian Coordinator, issue an official rebuttal to the newspaper’s editor, questioning the professionalism of the work and demanding accountability for points of misinformation.

For the time-being, please be aware of the existence of this article. After reading the article, I trust that you will agree that its publication by Argumenty i Fakty was in poor judgment from the editor’s side and regretable from ours.
