Palestinský klub v ČR svolá tichý protest v Praze dne 28. května

Palestinsky klub v Ceske republice se rozhodl svolat tiche shromazdeni dne 28.Kvetna 2004 v 19:00 hodin na Vaclavskem namesti, a to na protest proti politice statu Izrael v Gaze a hlavne v Rafahu. Behem teto izraelske invaze do pasma Gazy byly zdemolovany byty palestinskych rodin, okolo 1500 palestincu prislo o sve bydleni.

Uprchlicky tabor Rafah situovany v jizni casti pasma Gazy byl zalozen v roce 1949, aby ubytoval 41,000 palestinskych uprchliku. Behem poslednich tri a pul let zdemolovali Izraelci okolo 1800 domu v tomto tabore. Zacatkem Kvetna totho roku zacalo velke izraelske tazeni na mesto Rafah a na jeho uprchlicky tabor, behem nehoz doslo k vaznym porusenim lidskych prav. 20. Kvetna dosahlo pocet mrtvych 45 palestincu (mezi nimi 36 civilistu a 9 deti).

Tato operace byla soucasti politiky statu Izrael behem jeji dlouholete okupace Palestinskeho uzemi. Palestinsky klub v Ceske republice, ktery sestava z Palestincu zde trvale zijicich a pracujicich, odsuzuje toto hrube porusovani lidskych prav a take odsuzuje okupaci palestinskeho uzemi. Jakozto soucast ceskeho naroda povazujeme za podstatne vyjadrit nas postoj k tomuto konfliktu. Verime, ze vsichni lide maji pravo na dustojny a klidny zivot a uprednostnujeme mirove jednani. Jak rikal Mahatma Ghandi „ Ne-nasili je nejvetsi silou slouzici lidstvu. Je silnejsi nez nejsilnejsi zbrane niceni, ktere kdy lidska inteligence vymyslela“.

PALESTINIAN CLUB CR HOLDS A SILENT DEMONSTRATION IN PRAGUE ON MAY 28

The Palestinian Club of the Czech Republic has called a for a quiet gathering on Friday, May 28, 2004 at 7:00 pm on Wensceslas Square to protest the policies of the state of Israel in Gaza, particularly in the Rafah township. During the current Israeli invasion of the Gaza Strip approximately 1,500 Palestinians have been made homeless by home demolitions.

The Rafah refuge camp, situated in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, was founded in 1949 to accomodate 41,000 Palestinian refugees. During the last three and half years the Israeli military demolished around 1,800 homes in this camp. In early May of this year, the Israeli military began a major offensive against the Rafah township and the adjacent refugee camp, which led to serious violations of human rights. As of May 20, forty-five Palestinians have been killed in Rafah, including 36 civilians and 9 children.

This operation was a continuation of the policies of Israel during its long-standing occupation of Palestinian territories. The Palestinian Club of the Czech Republic, which is made up of Palestinians who permanently live and work in this country, condemns these gross violations of human rights and also condemns the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territory. As a integral part of the Czech population, we consider it important that we express our concerns about this conflict. We firmly believe that all people have the right to a dignified and secure life and we prefer peaceful negotiations to achieve those goals. As Mahatma Ghani said, „Non-violence is the greatest power available to humanity. It is stronger than the most powerful weapons of destruction which human intelligence has been able to create.“
