Učením ke změně našeho světa - velké mezinárodní konzultace v Göteborgu
16.4.2004 - GÖTEBORG (Learning 2004 ) - Learning to change our world – the Göteborg consultation on education for sustainable development will take place on 4–7 May 2004. Some 350 specially selected representatives from more than 60 countries will participate in the consultation.
It was at the World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg in 2002 that Prime Minister Göran Persson initiated the idea of an international consultation on sustainable development. During the consultation, participants representing a broad spectrum – from pre-school teachers to researchers, all of them active in the field of sustainable development – will be concentrating on how to make progress in learning for sustainable development.
The consultation will be inaugurated on the evening of 4 May by Prime Minister Göran Persson. Other participants include: Katarina Tomasevski, United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Right to Education; Valli Moosa, former Minister of Environmental Affairs and Tourism, South Africa; Thomas Östros, Minister for Education and Science; Carin Jämtin, Minister for International Development Cooperation; Lena Sommestad, Minister for the Environment; Will Steffen, Executive Director of the International Geosphere-Biosphere Programme, and Professor Hans Rosling, Karolinska Institute.
The organisers are the National Committee on Education for Sustainable Development, comprising representatives of ministries, agencies within the field of education, Chalmers University of Technology, Göteborg University and Universeum.
