Protected zones of health resorts in Czech Republic
Protected zones of health resorts are areas around healing waters securing
a natural stability of the environment. The protected areas are settled
for protection of natural resources of health resorts in 1st, 2nd, 3rd
zones and for special areas inside of 1st and 2nd zone. Condition of the
protection are declared by special regulations (based on Act No14 /1998).
E.g., in the 1st protected zone, it is not allowed - without the permission
of the Inspectorate of Health resorts:

exploitation of mineral resources

storaging of hazardeous wastes

pumping underground waters
-
carrying out earth works, drill holes, drainage works,mining and other
activities which can damage or otherwise negatively affect capacity
of wells, physical properties, chemical composition or hygienic unesceptionable
character of natural healing resource.
Similarly, other level of zones are regulated.
